Viewers in the United States who are looking forward to the Australian prison drama series, Wentworth season 7, may now watch the latest episodes. The show's recently-concluded season has now dropped on Netflix and may finally be seen by the fans outside of the Australian region.

According to DeciderWentworth season 7 will pick up months after what happened to the season 6 finale, which aired over a year ago. Divided over 10 episodes, the new installment will focus on the gang war involving Marie (played by Susie Porter) and Rita (played by Leah Purcell).

New faces will also shed light on more stories on Wentworthseason 7. Characters like Sean Brody (played by Rick Donald) and Dr. Greg Miller (played by David de Lautour) will spice up the tension this new season.

Meanwhile, Wentworth season 7 left a seriously devastating blow on viewers in Australia following the death of Lizzie (played by Celia Ireland), who was battling an illness in prison for the past two seasons. It was even more devastating to watch Boomer (played by Katrina Milosevic) assist in the death of her surrogate mother in prison.

"I think it speaks to both her love for Lizzie and her selflessness that she did this for her friend - particularly as we know her parole was coming up," executive producer Jo Porter told TV Week.

Porter also hinted that the prison will rebuild after the failed rebellion of Marie and her group. But with Lizzie gone and Rita (played by Lynette Curran) in police protection, how will Boomer and Ruby manage the rest of their time in prison?

There's good news despite some bad news on the show though. Wentworth season 7 is not going to be the last despite fans fearing that the show is at the end of its rope. This show has been confirmed to return for season 8 with an expanded 20 episodes.

"Foxtel have nurtured and supported the confronting world of Wentworth beautifully through its first seven award-winning series and we are thrilled to be producing another 20 episodes with them," the press release stated. "Jo Porter and Pino Amenta lead an exceptionally creative production team with Marcia Gardiner at the helm of our brilliant writing team. Wentworth is a premium global drama for Fremantle and the news of Series 8 will be celebrated around the world."
