Good Witch season 5 on the Hallmark Channel is done and over with as it aired its final episode on Sunday, Aug. 19. However, fans of the magical series should not be sad since the show is guaranteed to return for a sixth season, albeit with some major changes.

In July, the cable network confirmed early on that Good Witch season 6 has been renewed. Although there has been no announcement regarding its premiere date, fans believe that the next season will come out sometime in the April or May 2020.

Hallmark Channel will likely have some new information regarding the Good Witch season 6 premiere date, as well as the first teaser, sometime this December or January of next year. What's certain for now is that Bailey Madison (as Grace) will not be a big part of next season as she has left the show due to the progression of her character.

It's possible, however, for the actress to return on the show as a guest star in the upcoming season since she left the series without any bad blood or burned bridges. Her character has also not been killed off on the show that Madison has been part of from the very beginning.

In the Good Witch season 5 finale, Grace marched as the valedictorian at her graduation ceremony in Middleton High. She also shared her final words to her peers in a speech.

"All we have to do is spread our wings and soar," Grace said, per TV Line. "We may not land where we thought we would, or when we thought we would, but we all will land. And we will all find our greatest selves on the journey."

The Good Witch season 5 finale jumped three months later with Cassie (played by Catherine Bell) returning from Wellingsley after sending off Grace to her freshman year in college. She and Sam (played by James Denton) have a new chapter up ahead in Good Witch season 6 now that they have become empty-nesters.

Meanwhile, Good Witch will likely have a special Halloween episode set in October on Hallmark Channel. It's been a yearly tradition since the show began and since season 5 ratings have been quite stellar, the network will not likely pass up the chance to give fans something to enjoy for the holidays.
