Dark Season 3 will be the final bow of the supernatural family saga on Netflix. Here, fans can expect to see the return of its original cast members with some new faces that may play familiar characters. So, who will they be?
Barbara Nüsse, Hans Diehl, Jakob Diehl, Nina Kronjäger, Sammy Scheuritzel, and Axel Werner will be joining the last and final season. However, Netflix has yet to announce the roles they are going to play.
But, there are speculations on what roles they will be portraying based on their looks. According to Meaww, Kronjäger may play the role of the middle-aged Martha, used to be played by Lisa Vicari. However, it could only be possible if she would be playing the character in a parallel world after the real Martha got killed at the end of the previous season.
Nüsse, on the other hand, may play as an older Elisabeth Doppler. The 76-year-old star is 31 years older than the character's original actress, Sandra Borgmann. But, this, too, could only happen if the middle-aged Elisabeth would not be killed off.
There is also a possibility that these new stars will play new characters in Dark Season 3. But with the show's premise, they may only play an older version of someone's role in a different timeline.
Just like the previous season, Season 3 will only have eight episodes to end the series. Baran Bo Odar will be directing the final installment the way he directed Season 1 and Season 2, while co-creator Jantje Friese will handle the writing duties.
Digital Spy noted the original characters, Louis Hofmann, Andreas Pietschmann, Dietrich Hollinderbaumer, Daan Lennard Liebrenz, Lisa Vicari, and Paul Lux would all return for the final bow. They would be reprising their roles as Jonas, Noah, Adam, Mikkel, Martha, and Bartosz in the series.
Netflix earlier renewed the show to round off the trilogy. Dark Season 3 is now in production in Germany. The show's cast members have been regularly updating their fans with some updates on their respective social media pages.
The series became the biggest non-English show when it was released on December 2017 on Netflix. However, the streaming giant has yet to announce when the final season will be out. But given its timeline, it may still take a while before fans see it return on the small screen.
After Season 1's release, there was a time gap of almost two years before Season 2 was out in June this year. So if this timeline would be followed, there is a big possibility Dark Season 3 would be out in 2021 on Netflix.
