The upcoming Game of Thrones Prequel is full of mystery, especially its cast of characters. There are speculations that it may feature the likes of Bran the Builder, Lann the Clever, and Garth Greenhand, but who other legendary characters may appear? Will Symeon Star-Eyes be introduced?
In George R.R. Martin's A World of Ice and Fire, the Game of Thrones encyclopedia, it mentioned different characters from the annals of Westerosi history. The names of Bran the Builder, Garth Greenhand, Lann the Clever, and Durran Godsgrief emerged, although it is likely "their legends hold less truth than fancy."
However, the tales about these legendary kings, hundreds of kingdoms, other characters like Symeon Star-Eyes, Serwyn of the Mirror Shield, and other heroes are always part of the septons and singers' stories. Thus, there are questions if they are real or even exist in reality. The singers address Serywn of the Mirror Sheild as one of the Kingsguard, which is only formed during the reign of Aegon the Conqueror. Thus, only a few of these stories are trusted.
According to Express, the septons write their tales by taking details that will suit them and add other information. The singers, on the other hand, alter their writings to please other lords. But although Symeon Star-Eyes is considered a mythical figure in Westeros' history, he may appear in Game of Thrones Prequel.
Symeon Star-Eyes is a knight during the Age of Heroes. He has lost both of his eyes, which is said to be replaced with star sapphires that he put in his empty sockets.
As legends have it, he uses a long, double-ended spear to fight his enemies and he makes his way to the Nightfort, where hellhounds fight. If Symeon Star-Eyes gets into Game of Thrones Prequel, he will be a substantial addition to the spinoff due to his complexity as a character.
Business Times recently reported Garth Greenhand might also appear in the prequel. He is described to be a common ancestor to many houses, like the Tyrells and Florent. He even owns a kingdom spanning The Reach.
According to legends, he also leads the First Man across the Arm of Dorne, although it remains to be seen if these things are real. There are even stories that he gets along with the Children of the Forests and giants, but it is still a big mystery if he exists. HBO has yet to announce when Game of Thrones Prequel may be out, but it is expected for release in 2020 or 2021.
