Archer Season 11 will be in the works as FX confirms its return on the small screen. At the recent San Diego Comic-Con 2019, the network announced the renewal with the expected return of its original characters. So, what will happen in the next installment?

According to executive producer Casey Willis, Archer (H. Jon Benjamin) will be waking up from his coma in Season 11. The antagonist has been in a coma for the past three seasons. Thus, the succeeding seasons since the eighth installment has been focusing on different themes.

According to ScreenRant, the different theme is the side effect of Archer's coma. Also, these season-long themes become a guide for the season's story.

To recall, Season 8 bore the title "Archer Dreamland," where Archer worked in the 1940s Los Angeles, carrying a noir-like theme. Season 9, "Danger Island," was set on a deserted island in 1938 with an Indiana Jones vibes, while Season 10, "1999," featured the entire team living and working aboard the salvage spaceship.

However, Archer Season 11 has no official storyline or season theme yet. As Archer is set to wake up from his coma, fans may expect the story to continue its usual tale from Season 7.

In a short teaser, Game Spot noted it shows what form the new season will take. It features possible happenings, including Archer having his children, battling a disease, and getting into different kinds of trouble.

After he wakes up from his coma, Archer learns his mother has moved to his hospital room and been waiting for him to wake up. However, his mom doesn't want to share the full details about his group after what happened.

The show's producers promised Archer Season 11 would feature Archer getting back to his detective works. Once again, fans would see Archer getting back into his usual fighting shape after nearly dying.

Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, Jessica Walter, Judy Greer, Chris Parnell, Amber Nash, Adam Reed, and Lucky Yate are all expected to be back to reprise their roles in the new season. Although FX has yet to announce when the next installment will be out, it is expected for release in 2020.

Since Season 7, the show has been premiering between March and May. So, it is possible Archer Season 11 will follow the usual schedule. Each season typically has nine episodes so that the latest installment may have the same number of episodes.
