After receiving the official renewal decision from Fox Entertainment last March, 9-1-1 Season 3 is now heading to its premiere this fall. And with only a few weeks left before its arrival, the network has finally released the first look of the new season.
As per Entertainment Weekly, the third season will kick-off with a huge tsunami in Santa Monica Pier. Of course, this will be a massive catastrophe to the region as well as to the whole crew of the first responders.
While the premiere of the third season is undoubtedly expected to be a jaw-dropping one, what made the teasers surprising is the fact that WWE personality, Rhonda Rousey, is revealed to join the cast of 9-1-1 Season 3. And based on the recently released teasers, it looks like Rhonda Rousey's character will ask assistance from Station 118's department.
According to Pop Culture, Rhonda Rousey will play the role of Lena Bosko. She is said to be a "stoic" and "fearless" member of Station 136. While other reports do not claim for her role as a recurring one, the publication largely claims that she will play a recurring role for the whole new season.
The truth is - no confirmation yet has been provided to the public when it comes to the status of her role in the show. Even so, many fans are just excited to see a new face, especially its Rhonda Rousey's, on 9-1-1.
In terms of the huge tsunami that will the area, The Wrap's preview has mentioned that everything seems to be going all the way to the south as no one is prepared for the disaster. And per the series creators' statement concerning the first major disaster of the season, the tsunami will be the first central point of the new season.
In addition to these details, they also shared that 9-1-1 Season 3 will feature its "disasters" and "catastrophic events" with much more realistic vantage points. They've joked about Quentin Tarantino and how he would "tear up" upon watching every episode.
This only goes to show how the series creators are very much proud and secured that Season 3's setting and dynamic will be outstanding once it airs on Fox. Not to mention, they also revealed that everyone in the crew and cast had pushed their limits for this season.
9-1-1 Season 3 will premiere on September 23, on Fox. As for its newly commissioned spin-off series, 9-1-1: Lone Star, the pilot season will air on January 2020.
