The sixth and final season of Power has finally begun its chain of events. And with Angela's death headlining the premiere, it only hints that the final season will be chaotic.
Many fans have thought that Angela would survive Tommy's bullet. And this is in consideration of the fact that Courtney Kemp told in an interview that Angela will be in the final installment. Hence, it became a real surprise to the fans when she was announced dead.
Quite obviously, this is where Ghost's real and final journey begins. And with the huge betrayal that is in the middle of his paths, it is only fitting that he would seek vengeance.
But what's interesting at this point is that Ghost aims to get his revenge by being successful. It is worth noting that he has been wanting to get out of the criminal world. And the only way he could do his revenge is by showing Tommy his achievements without him by his side.
While it may seem too neat and innocent, Power creators and producers have warned everyone that the final season will truly be a blood bath. Also, they charge the fans to be ready for the pretty "wild" upcoming death toll.
As reiterated by the Los Angeles Sentinel, the opening premiere concert event of the new season that occurred last August 20 in New York City, had featured all the characters who have died since the pilot run.
Based on the presentations, the first season incurred seven deaths. For the second run, the number has increased to 17. As for the third and fourth seasons, there were 24 and 26 deaths, respectively. And the previous season had 32 deaths.
The trend is obviously increasing as the show progresses. This has caused many fans to assume that the final season will feature more deaths than the last season. And with Angela, a main character since the early seasons, starting the tally line for Power Season 6 is really not a good sign for everyone.
Per Complex, the final run of the series will have a total of 15 episodes. And considering how the premiere went last week, expect the following episodes to be so much more intense and heart-stopping.
Also, by looking at the episode list, there will be a Why Is Tommy Still Alive? installment for the current season. And with this kind of title, some fans are convinced that Tommy might also end up dead in the last few episodes of Power Season 6.
But whatever the case, the series knows what they're doing. It sold pretty well in its first few runs, so, surely, it might also sell well this time around.
Power Season 6 Episode 2 titled, Whose Side Are You On, will premiere on September 1, on Starz.
