Prince William and Kate Middleton’s split is being talked about after reports claimed that the Duke of Cambridge cheated on his wife with her best friend Rose Hanbury. Since the Royal couple and the Buckingham Palace have never confirmed nor denied the speculations, the public felt that it was up for them to think what the truth is.

For now, rumors regarding Prince William and Kate Middleton’s split are going to stay like that — just rumors. Until the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge themselves announce the status of their relationship, that’s the only time that it’s going to be official.

But just because they are not talking about it, doesn't mean the people would stay quiet as well. The recent allegation regarding the future ruler’s infidelity led to talks about the details of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s split in the past.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge began dating in 2003 and got married in 2011. While their romance appeared to be straight out of a fairytale, the pair did have their share of misunderstandings, which led them to break things off in 2007. Although their relationship ended up in a positive note, reports revealed that Kate was very upset during their break up.

Biographer Andrew Morton wrote a book back in 2011 with the title, “William and Catherine.” The book was about the pair’s university days when they first met, fell in love, and everything in between.

“There was an emotional conflict: while Kate had made it clear that she wanted a commitment from her man, Prince William, according to close friends, was not so sure,” Morton wrote. The biographer revealed that after learning about Prince William and Kate Middleton’s split, just a few of her friends were sad, but “The prevailing reaction for most of them was ‘Thank goodness that’s over!’”

Morton shared that a lot of Kate’s friends were upset with her when she dated Prince William and “disappeared down the royal rabbit hole.” They claimed that she became distant and was not making any effort to see them, saying that they felt like they were “left out in the cold.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s split was pretty brief at the time, and the two eventually patched things up, got married, and have three beautiful children together, six-year-old Prince George, four-year-old Princess Charlotte, and one-year-old Prince Louis.
