Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma: The Third Plate ended its course last June 2018. Just like its predecessors, the finale was a total cliffhanger making a lot of fans anxious about the show.
As it happens, all final episodes of the series tend to cut the climax of the subjected arc to be continued on the next season. And this kind of tactic makes a lot of fans so much more eager to obtain the next installment.
For the third season, Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma ended with Soma, along with a select few, taking sides against the Elite Ten who sided with Central.
Luckily for the fans, the fourth season with the subtitle, The Fourth Plate, is about to arrive in the next few weeks. Accordingly, they will finally get to know what happened after the confrontation between the two cliques.
While the fourth season will pick up where the show last ended, there will a huge "shift" in terms of course and dynamic. This is because the course of the story has already ended in its manga series.
According to Comic Book, a lot of things will be covered in the upcoming Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma Season 4, The Fourth Plate. And it is highly possible that the show will be split again into two parts, just like it did the previous season.
Even so, it is still unknown if the anime series will deviate a little from the manga source. But whatever the case, the series is already ending and that's for sure.
It is true that the long wait is almost over. And the fans are just excited to see the upcoming events on the series. It is worth noting though that the confirmation has been only revealed recently.
As per Monsters and Critics, it is only a few weeks ago when Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma Season 4 has been confirmed to arrive this fall, in October. But as to why it came late, no explanations were given to the public.
Nevertheless, the fans couldn't care less now. Besides, the most important thing, in this case, is that the new season is finally arriving.
There are also talks of a sequel in its manga series. And as it happened, it was also confirmed to arrive after the fourth season of the anime. The title of the sequel will be "Shokugeki no Soma ~ Le Dessert." But instead of publishing via Weekly Shonen Jump, it will be published by Jump GIGA.
