Jack Ryan season 2 is one of Amazon's most awaited original shows. After the streaming platform released its first teaser last July, fans have been wondering when the platform will drop its new episodes.
Earlier, there were speculations that Jack Ryan season 2, with star John Krasinski, would be out at roughly the same period as the first season, which was at the end of August. However, that day has come and gone, and Amazon still hasn't revealed the show's new release date as of press time.
Amazon instead premiered its new series, Carnival Row, for the long Labor Day weekend. Amazon's Twitter account, on the other hand, has been inundated with questions from eager fans asking about the exact Jack Ryan season 2 release date.
At any rate, Jack Ryan season 2 is launching soon on the platform while season 3 has been renewed as early as February 2019. Production for the third season, however, has not yet started since Krasinski is still working on the set of the follow-up movie A Quiet Place, where he is the director.
Jack Ryan has always enjoyed an early renewal from the platform. Amazon has all the confidence in this series since it has netted a 400 percent increase in its membership.
"With so much early anticipation for Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan from our customers and personally having the pleasure to preview the exhilarating, action-packed first season, we are excited to greenlight a second season of the series months ahead of its debut. The new season will take our unexpected hero to a new, exciting and dangerous world," Amazon Studios boss Jennifer Salke said in the press release.
Meanwhile, Jack Ryan season 2 is going to feature some new faces as it moves away from its Middle Eastern storyline from season 1. Nooma Rapace will play the German intelligence agent Harry Baumann while Mike Kelly will play the CIA agent Mike November.
Also joining Krasinski for this new chapter are Tom Wlaschiha, Jovan Adepo, Jordi Molla, Cristina Umaña and Francisco Denis. Jack Ryan season 1 regulars like Wendell Pierce (as James Greer and Abbie Cornish (as Cathy Mueller) and John Hoogenakker (as Matice) are returning for the second season.
Jack Ryan season 2 will follow Jack's new mission as he tracks down a suspicious illegal arms shipment from Venezuela. Heading to South America to investigate, Jack uncovers a conspiracy tying the Venezuelan president that could launch a global catastrophe.
