Prince William and Kate Middleton are two of the most popular and well-liked members of the Royal family. While the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are both extremely good looking, their appearance is not the only thing that made them an instant crowd favorite.

Prince William’s mother, the late Princess Diana, was loved by many for being kind and approachable. People see these traits of the Princess of Wales on her eldest son and his wife. This is the main reason why the public looks up to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

However, it seems that Prince Charles was not that impressed. A report revealed that the Prince of Wales even called Kate Middleton “tasteless” on her first holiday after marrying Prince William.

Kate Middleton had been a part of the Royal family for almost a decade, and a lot would agree that she did her part well. Although the Duchess of Cambridge was not born Royal, people see her as a true and full-blooded Princess. Unfortunately for her, Prince Charles didn’t see it that way, according to royal author Sally Bedell Smith.

Smith said that during Prince William and Kate Middleton’s first trip overseas as husband and wife to Canada and Los Angeles USA, Prince Charles thought their trip featured too many “tasteless” photos ops. The Prince of Wales reportedly didn’t like the fact that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were so “camera-friendly.”

Prince Charles allegedly felt that Prince William and Kate Middleton treated their official royal trip like their holiday and was “more than a little irked” about it. Royal author Phil Dampier then said that Prince Charles and Prince William had a father and son rivalry after the latter’s marriage to Kate Middleton.

“Charles felt overshadowed by Diana, and now it seems he feels overshadowed by their son,” Dampier shared. “Some people may think he is jealous. I have always felt that as soon as William got married, Charles would feel sidelined.”

Whether Prince Charles is jealous of Prince Willian or not, or called Kate Middleton “tasteless” or didn’t, the most important thing here is that they are doing their obligations well. The public may have an idea about the rules of the Royals, but not everyone is an expert, so they had no idea what the Royals should or shouldn’t do when in public.

Prince William and Kate Middleton “camera-friendly” moment during their earlier trip may be “tasteless” to Prince Charles, but their gesture was appreciated by a lot of people.
