The action and emergencies continue in 9-1-1 season 3 this fall season on FOX. The first episode back will feature a few other emergencies aside from a fear-inducing tsunami in Santa Monica.
In the latest promo for 9-1-1 season 3, the first episode back will feature a little boy trapped inside a washing machine and a teenager driving away fast from the cops. It's unclear how the boy got inside or why the teen called 9-1-1 for help if the police are on his tail.
The sound from Maddie (played by Jennifer Love Hewitt) after hearing the calls suggest that the viewers are going to be in for a lot of surprises yet again. But the biggest shock of all, in the return of 9-1-1 season 3, could just be a that astounding tsunami. The clip revealed that even Buck (played by Oliver Stark) might not even be safe from this deadly natural catastrophe.
Meanwhile, 9-1-1 season 3 episode 1 will get right on the introduction of its newest cast member. According to Entertainment Weekly, Mixed Martial Arts star Ronda Rousey has joined the show for a recurring role as a firefighter.
Photos of Rousey in action with Ryan Guzman (as Eddie) reveal that her character may have been hurt by the tsunami as well. Her whole team will be lost in an unexpected disaster, and it's up to Station 118 to pull it all together.
"Like our multi-part earthquake episodes from last year, cast and crew are pushing the limits, striving to create a realistic experience of human endurance in the face of a natural disaster," said executive producer Tim Meaner about the upcoming season. "Our goal is to make Quentin Tarantino at least tear up by the end of every hour."
9-1-1 debuted on FOX in 2018 as a procedural drama series about first responders, firefighters, dispatchers, paramedics, and cops. The show created by Minear, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck stars Stark, Angela Bassett (as Athena), Peter Krause (as Bobby), Aisha Hinds (as Hen) and Kenneth Choi (as Chimney). The second season, which aired in September, introduced Love-Hewitt and Guzman in the series, while also developing the personal stories of the characters.
Love-Hewitt's Maddie is the sister of Buck, who started to develop a romantic relationship with Chimney. Guzman's Eddie, on the other hand, is a single dad of a boy with physical disabilities.
9-1-1 season 2 ended with Athena and Bobby committing to live their life together. As the newly-married couple finds their grove in 9-1-1 season 3, they will also be challenged with more emergencies at work.
