Noah Solloway (played by Dominic West) doesn't like this new journalist doing a story on him in The Affair season 5 episode 3. Mozhan Marnò, who was previously on The Blacklist, boards the show as the journalist behind the vicious interview for Noah's latest novel.
As seen in the preview for The Affair season 5 episode 3, the journalist doesn't hold back with her questions about Noah's past in prison, his crimes and his "enormous fall from grace." It's clear from his reactions that he does not like this exchange, but then she asked the most poignant question that made him pause and reflect -- "Would you say that the redemption of Noah Solloway is complete?"
Noah has regained in his career in The Affair season 5 after going to prison murder. But his personal life is still in shambles, and it's pretty clear that he's got plenty of work to do to make amends to those he has hurt in the past.
Meanwhile, his ex-wife Helen (played by Maura Tierney) seems to be moving on from all the hurt. She has now found a new love in The Affair season 5, and he is nothing like Noah.
Helen's new guy, Sasha Mann (played by Claes Bang), is quite the charismatic movie star. He's also a believer in minimalism, which has transformed Helen's life in many ways.
Per Daily Express, Sasha was introduced in last week's episode of The Affair season 5. The new timeline jumps forward three months after the death of Vik (played by Omar Metwally), and Sasha has been filming Noah's movie Descent. He and Helen have been spending time together while on the film that they formed a deeper friendship.
As for the woman whom Noah started this whole incident that shook his life, Alison (played by Ruth Wilson) will not be making an appearance in The Affair season 5. The actress reportedly asked to exit the series before they started writing the new season.
Showrunner Sarah Treem said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that Wilson's characters death in The Affair season 4 was deliberate. They filmed with Wilson's scenes first before they did the rest of the scenes with the other actors.
Aside from Wilson, one other original star isn't coming back to The Affair season 5. Joshua Jackson (as Cole Lockhart) will also not be in the new season, which is, incidentally, the final run.
Reports stated that Jackson had been thinking about leaving the show while the details of The Affair season 5 have been hatched. As the ex-husband of Wilson's Alison, Cole's participation on the show seems to have come to a finite conclusion as well with her death.
