BJ Park Min Jung responded to netizens about her stance, "I took a break as I got mentally shocked. However, I do not regret what I have done." Park released direct messages (DM) sent by former CNBLUE member Lee Jong-hyun and fell into a recent controversy. On September 4th, the streamer uploaded a video clip via her Youtube Channel "Park Min Jung TV" with the title stating: "This is how I feel about the recent scandal."
She stated, "My break was a bit long. I am sorry. I'm sorry everyone." "It was better for me to say honestly instead of being stressed out," said Park.
A recent controversy was fueled by Park's release of direct messages sent by Lee Jonghyun. The message was released via her Instagram Stories on August 28th. The screenshot photo of Lee's messages wrote, "I am enjoying your Youtube videos. Please upload many fun clips", "Your belly fat is so cute." The photo also revealed wht Park wrote, "Eh? Is this really CNBLUE?"
Lee Jonghyun received a bitter criticism due to his inappropriate texts sent to the Youtuber. The latest controversy came several months after confirming he had watched the same illicit videos in one-on-one private KakaoTalk chat room with Jung Joon Young. He was criticized as this controversy happened while he is fulfilling his mandatory military service. Because of all these reasons, netizens demanded that he should leave CNBLUE and retire from the entertainment industry.
Lee wrote, "I am informing you that I'm withdrawing from CNBLUE. I feel sorry that I have caused harm to the members, and I have told the members as well that I am withdrawing. I am ashamed to have disappointed the fans who trusted me." The guitarist and vocalist apologized to other CNBLUE members, FNC Entertainment as well as his fans who were disappointed.
Park Min Jung also stated, "I want to apologize that I have revealed private conversations. Currently, the message has been taken down and I will be more careful not to make the same mistake."
In the video streaming, Park reflected frankly on her stance and abusive comments as she was returning from one week break. She responded to the accusations of netizens that she was using noise marketing saying, "I received Lee's direct message last week. He wrote that he was watching my Youtube well and asked me to post more fun things. If I intended to take advantage of his CNBLUE identity, I would have disclosed this message right away. I ignored it but he kept sending the message again. The message itself does not have a problem. However, wasn't Lee the person who made that message?"
She continued, "If I ignore this type of message, he would send it to other women who might have been caught as they may have fantasy towards entertainment stars like him. Women with immature thoughts may respond to him and meet him. I wished that such a thing wouldn't happen, which is the reason why I released his DM."
Towards netizens who pointed at Park's reply, "Huh? Is this real CNBLUE?", she wrote, "I could have been more direct but I was afraid that it might become a controversy. That is why I pretended I did not know him. But, why could I not know Lee? He had over 1.97 million followers. I knew that it was Lee himself."
"I responded in that way as I was not brave enough. I did not feel sexually ashamed over his message that my belly fat is cute," Park explained. When she was releasing abusive comments, her hands were trembling.
"Frankly speaking, I do not regret what I did. However, reading slandering comments, my heart collapsed. There was even a message saying, 'you uncover yourself anyway'. If I uncover myself, does it mean I should get such DMs? This does not justify sexual assault," argued Park.
"What was more appalling was to see some women who did not sympathize with what I tried to say. Some women were out of track. There were also some men who said Lee's message was not a sexual assault at all. I could not but disclose everything in the end," said the Youtuber.
