New York Comic-Con 2019 is coming, and fans are now excited to see the Outlander Season 5 panel at the event. However, there are news Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin, who play the fan-favorites Brianna and Roger, will not be there.

According to CarterMatt, Skelton and Rankin will be busy filming for the new season at the time of the event. Based on the show's post on Twitter, the two will be on set when the NYCC begins.

Skelton and Rankin will be hard at work as they reprise their roles as the lovers at Fraser Ridge. However, despite their absence, fans can still ask them questions through the show's official Twitter page.

"During #NYCC, @SkeltonSophie and @RikRankin will be working hard, holding down the Ridge on set," the tweet read. "Send us your questions for them for a chance to get them answered soon."

Skelton and Rankin are said to stay in Scotland to make sure Outlander Season 5 will continuously be in the works. As the show will still be in production at the time of NYCC, it will be hard for Starz to fly everyone across the Atlantic Ocean to bring them to New York. Aside from affecting the filming, it will also be ruining its schedule.

But fans don't have to worry as they will still see the lead stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe at the event. They will be joined by the supporting cast members: Duncan Lacroix, Maria Doyle Kennedy, and David Berry. Executive producers Ronald D. Moore and Maril Davis will also be there, along with the Outlander novel series author Diana Gabaldon.

Meanwhile, Starz finally announced the official release date of Outlander Season 5. Fans will once again see Claire Randall, Jamie Fraser, and the rest of Fraser's Ridge residents back on the small screen. But, viewers still have to wait until 2020 for their return, per Bleeding Cool.

Starz chief operating officer Jeffrey A. Hirsch first revealed the show would not be seen on TV until 2020. At the recent Television Critics Association (TCA) summer press tour, he explained the decision to delay the series' release was due to the network's scheduling plan.

"Everything we do is based on delivery, trying to have something on the air to serve that premium female audience," he said. "We have some shows coming before, like Power that serve the general market. It's more about scheduling around that digital experience."

Outlander Season 5 is set to be out on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020, on Starz. It will be composed of 12 episodes that will surely be followed by Season 6 as the network earlier announced.
