Rapper Noel [real name Jang Yong Joon], a son of a famous politician in South Korea, is at the center of a drunk driving controversy after his past scandal of attempting prostitution as a minor. It has been two years after the last disgraceful news broke out.
The rapper crashed into a motorcycle in Mapo Gu area in Seoul on September 7th.
The police conducted the alcohol test and his blood alcohol level was reportedly above .08% which resulted in his license revoked. After questioning by police, he returned home.
This is not his first time that he stirred up a headline controversy. In 2017, he appeared on Mnet's High School Rapper but immediately astonished viewers with suspicions of attempting prostitution. The rapper eventually left the program.
Jang Jewon, then a member of the Barun Party, apologized repeatedly and resigned from Chairman's position in the Busan Si Party Committee.
Afterwards, Noel has been active with his performance since March, 2018, after he signed an exclusive contract with hip hop label 'Indigo Music' led by Swings and worked for the release of 'Summer 19' in June.
Just two years after suspicions of attempting prostitution, Noel is now caught in another talked about news headlines because of driving drunk.
His father Jang also apologized on his Facebook page, "I'm really sorry to the people. As a father, I feel unspeakably painful."
"Yong Joon is an adult fully responsible for any wrongdoing he has done and he will take a legal responsibility. I want to bow my head and apologize sincerely," wrote Noel's father.
