During the younger days of the Dukes of Cambridge and Sussex, many believed that Prince William was the good boy, while Prince Harry was the bad boy. So when the public thinks about which of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana’s son was the bigger player, the average royal fan would most probably point their fingers at the younger Prince.

But according to one of Kate Middleton’s friends, that wasn’t the case at all. In an old Daily Mail interview unearthed by Express, the friend said that Kate was ready to be proposed to by Prince William in 2007, but that didn’t happen, saying, “As far as she was concerned, it wasn’t a question of ‘if,’ just ‘when.’ She openly admitted that she expected a formal announcement to be made by Clarence House.”

But instead of a Royal proposal, the pair broke up instead. A royal source then added that the reason why Prince William didn’t ask Kate Middleton’s hand in marriage is that he "simply wasn’t ready to settle down" with her yet. Also, to become Prince William’s wife, Kate had to accept his playboy ways.

“He has always had a roving eye, far more so than Harry, who is meant to be the family playboy,” the source said. “That’s something Kate has always known and accepted - it was part of the deal if you like. I suppose in that respect; she would have made a perfect Princess of Wales.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton eventually got back together, announced their engagement in 2010, got married in 2011, and are now proud parents of three beautiful children, six-year-old Prince George, four-year-old Princess Charlotte, and one-year-old Prince Louis.

Being married for almost a decade, it is safe to say that Prince William and Kate Middleton have settled any problems they had in the past. If the Duke of Cambridge was indeed a playboy in his younger years, he transformed himself into a loving husband and father.

But just because they are the image of marital bliss now, doesn’t mean that the couple will not be bombarded with cheating rumors at all. Prince William was rumored to be having an affair with Kate Middleton’s best friend, Rose Hanbury.

Prince William, Kate Middleton, and the rest of the Royal family have never confirmed nor denied the cheating rumors.
