“The divorce rumors came, and then we knew the perceptions had changed,” she told Us Weekly. “I’m not kidding. I know it sounds ridiculous, but when that started happening I thought, ‘Oh, now we’re finally accepted.’ We get the same s**t as every celebrity couple.”
Although the 46-year-old Australian model, philanthropist, and actress didn’t confirm nor deny all the Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi divorce rumors, her nonchalant response was enough to say that their marriage is completely fine. The Arrested Development star just took all the split speculations as being accepted in Hollywood, since most married couples in Tinseltown have encountered divorce rumors at least once in their married lives.
Also, Portia talked about other talks about her aside from the divorce rumors. “I thought, ‘Wow, this is great that I’m pregnant, not pregnant, divorced, not divorced, whatever. That means there is an acceptance for this,” she added. The only way that the couple deals with all the Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi divorce rumors is to completely ignore it.
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi have been married for over a decade. They tied the knot on August 2008, years before gay marriage was legalized nationwide. They didn’t have a huge wedding like most celebrity couples, they exchanged their vows in front of less than 20 guests at their Beverly Hills home.
Meanwhile, just because the spouses appear to be having a great union, doesn’t mean all the Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi divorce rumors will completely disappear. An earlier report claims that the pair looked very cold with each other during their visit to London.
Onlookers allegedly said that Ellen DeGeneres “had a scowl on her face at various points. She seemed to have a bit of a cloud over her head.” The source added that the popular TV host looked grumpy as Portia was lagging.
