New Amsterdam season 2 will open with a confirmation of who died and who survived following that horrific accident in the first season finale. It seems Helen, Lauren, and Georgia are in the clear though, judging by the newly-released teaser from NBC.

The clip promo for New Amsterdam season 2 clearly shows that the women played by Freema Agyeman, Janet Montgomery, and Lisa O'Hare have made it back to the hospital, albeit with some wounds and bleeding. However, it's still hard to shake off the idea that one character will be gone for the rest of the season since executive producer Peter Horton told TV Insider that someone would die from that crash.

"The sheet was put in there on purpose, and you're right, we do see them running along a stretcher," Horton said. "All those were by design."

So, while it shows that the women are still alive, one of them could crash and burn by the end of the episode. Speculations are that O'Hare's Georgia will bow out of the show since she's working on a stage play on Broadway.

But that's not all that viewers will learn in New Amsterdam season 2. According to showrunner David Schulner in an interview with TV Line, the first episode will go on a time jump three months after the crash.

Because of this time jump, fans also think that Georgia will not survive the crash after behind-the-scenes clip of Max (played by Ryan Eggold) revealed him to be carrying his baby daughter at the hospital. Keen fans pointed out that if Georgia were alive, wouldn't she be taking care of the baby and not have Max carry the child to work?

Meanwhile, New Amsterdam season 2 has a new face to introduce in the upcoming installment though fans of the show may be somewhat familiar with her. Ana Villafañe has been cast as Max's new oncologist, Valentina Castro, to replace Helen.

Helen talked about Valentina more than once in the first season. They used to work together until Helen had to fire Valentina. The show will most definitely need to answer why Valentina is going to take over Helen as Max's cancer doctor. Does this have to do with Helen's injury from the crash?

New Amsterdam season 2 will premiere on NBC on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 10:00 p.m.
