There will be a lot of love, a wedding, and a couple of reunions with special guest stars in The Good Doctor season 3. Viewers should be thrilled to watch the recent changes in the popular medical drama as it enters another year of storytelling.

The newly-released teaser for The Good Doctor season 3 gives viewers a peek of the first date between Shaun (played by Freddie Highmore) and Carly (played by Jasika Nicole). It looks like this pairing could be headed to their very first kiss as well, if not for what Dr. Glassman (played by Richard Schiff) tells his protege in the teaser. Is Shaun going to have second thoughts?

"I know this dating thing can be scary," the old man says to Shaun. "But don't give up on love. It's wonderful."

The teaser also hints of a confrontation between Carly and Shaun's dear friend, Claire (played by Antonia Thomas). But if things might seem to get ugly between the women who care for Shaun, there are also some bright spots to be expected in The Good Doctor season 3.

First, Dr. Glassman will finally get to marry Debbi Wexler (played by Sheila Kelley). They are set to have a unique wedding that will be one of the highlights of the season. Second, The Good Doctor season 3 will feature two special guest appearances and a reunion for some of the actors.

Robert Sean Leonard will be appearing in the third episode of The Good Doctor season 3 as Shamus O'Malley, a patient of Claire and Dr. Melendez (played by Nicholas Gonzales). It's going to be a reunion between him and the creator of the series, David Shore, years after they worked together on another medical drama, House.

As per the episode logline, Leonard's character will be rushed to the hospital due to a fishing accident. However, the doctors will have to find a way to help the patient without ruining his career as a sports fisherman.

Joshua Malina will also pop up in The Good Doctor season 3 as one of the patients. The former Scandalstar's role hasn't been detailed, but he will be working with Schiff again. The two actors were part of the political drama The West Wing.

The new season will begin its run on Monday, Sept. 23, at 9:00 p.m. on ABC.
