Pride (played by Scott Bakula) is shifting from the Big Easy to the Big Apple in one episode of NCIS: New Orleans season 6. And joining him on this special trip will be his daughter Laurel, (played by Shanley Caswell).
Entertainment Weekly has the exclusive photo of the father and daughter reunion in NCIS: New Orleans season 6. Laurel is conveniently based in New York, where his father returned to follow-up on a cold case during his time with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department 20 years ago.
"We felt lucky to be able to tell a classic NCIS: New Orleans story showing our hero, Dwayne Pride, in these iconic locations," co-showrunner Christopher Silber told the press.
But it's not just going to be Pride and his daughter who'll have a reunion in the upcoming installment as Joanna Cassidy will also be back to reprise her role as Pride's mother. An episode of NCIS: New Orleans season 6 will delve on why Pride's mom developed a mental condition. It will be part of Pride's whole story arc this season.
"[His mother is] kind of the missing link for Pride in terms of his heart and his heartbreak," Bakula said of this character. "Hopefully there'll be more after this season with her and again, the road to finding his mother opened up when he lost his dad."
Also, guest starring in NCIS: New Orleans season 6 is Eddie Cahill from the defunct show CSI: New York. According to Parade, the actor will be in multi-episodes which will tie him to Cade, the brother of Christopher Lasalle (played by Lucas Black).
This will also be a significant story arc for Lasalle's character. Other details to Cahill's characterization and the episode airing have not yet been revealed, but executive producer Jan Nash said that they are quite excited about this arc.
Meanwhile, NCIS: New Orleans season 6 will have one less familiar face after the exit of Shalita Grant (played by Sonya Percy). Despite her character's chemistry with Lasalle, the actress bowed out of the show because she wanted a change in her career, per her manager, Didi Rae. The actress' decision was "mutually agreed upon," per Deadline.
NCIS: New Orleans season 6's special New York episode will air on Oct. 8. The show, on the other hand, will begin its new season run on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 10:00 p.m.
