Cara Bloom (played by Violett Beane) is not going back home to New York just yet. She will stay around longer in Paris in God Friended Me season 2 to follow up on a separate God account case from Miles (played by Brandon Michael Hall).
According to the episode synopsis, God Friended Me season 2 episode 2 will be titled "The Lady," and it might have something to do with Cara's situation in Paris. This suggests that she will receive her own social media friend suggestion from God, and she will also have her specific story trajectory.
Viewers will remember that when God Friended Me ended last season, Cara set forth to visit Paris so she can write a book about Pria (played by Parminder Nagra), Simon (played by Adam Goldberg) and Henry (played by Derek Luke). God Friended Me season 2 did film part of the season in France over the summer, as shown in the photos released by CBS.
But Cara is not going to forget about her pals in New York as showrunner and executive producer Steven Lilien revealed to TV Line that the character would be going home at some point in God Friended Me season 2. When she comes back, however, she will be a slightly different person because of the things that she will experience while in France.
Cara might discover more things about herself in Paris, which could affect her blossoming relationship with Miles. They admitted to each other in the finale of God Friended Me season 1 that they kind of like each other but Cara left town before something could officially happen between them.
It looks like Miles won't be able to tell Cara outright about how he feels. This romance might take a while to blow some steam in God Friended Me season 2.
"I will say that every great relationship does need the challenge to become even stronger," executive producer Bryan Wynbrandt said. "It's going to be a tough journey."
And while Cara is in France, Miles would be working on the God accounts with a new girl, Joy (played Jessica Lu), whom viewers met in the God Friended Me season 1 finale. Joy will receive her very first friend suggestion from God in the premiere episode of God Friended Me season 2 and will seek the help of Miles to find this soldier in New York.
God Friended Me season 2 will return on the air on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019, on CBS. The second episode will air the following week on Oct. 6, 2019.
