The legal dispute between the trot singer Hong Jin Young and her company Music K Entertainment has been terminated.
According to multiple sources, Hong Jin Young and Music K recently reached an agreement to end a legal dispute. Hong Jin Young submitted to the court a notice of withdrawal of her application for an injunction to terminate the effect of her exclusive contract.
Hong applied for a suspension of the effect of her exclusive contract with Music K and announced that she would part ways with her agency via her SNS last month.
The two sides had disputes on issues such as revenue settlement, but decided to make an agreement in consideration of their partnership for more than a decade. As a result, the first civil hearing date, which was scheduled for the 20th, was canceled.
Hong Jin Young is expected to leave Music K and take her own path. She denied a speculated plan to found a family company. However, she put her own name as CEO for Otriber, a shopping mall company where she has been a representative. She recently launched a popular culture and art planning business under the name of Otriber.
Born in 1985, Hong Jin Young debuted as Swan in a girl group in 2007, but turned back to solo after the team was disbanded, and re-debuted in 2009, releasing 'Battery of Love'. Since then, she became popular through songs such as 'Tonight','My Love', and 'Love is Everything'.
