The resumption of the investigation of Seungri has been postponed by authorities after the singer requested to move the interrogation to an undisclosed date. The former BIG BANG member is being investigated by authorities for illegal gambling suspicions.

According to a report by Soompi, Seungri was supposed to return for questioning on Monday. However, he was rescheduled based on his personal request.

Seungri was supposed to report to Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Sophisticated Crime Investigation Division on September 23 to answer questions on alleged violations to the Foreign Exchange and Transactions Act as well as gambling overseas.

Police confirmed that they will be rescheduling the investigation date as Seungri requested that the date be undisclosed to the public. A source has indicated that the former K-Pop idol will be not be called in for questioning on September 23, which was supposed to be the second round of questioning.

Seungri has committed to be truthful to the police and cooperate with the investigation.

"I told the truth about the suspicions. I will continue to be diligent and follow the rules for the remainder of the investigation. Once again, I am sorry," Seungri said to the media during the first round of questioning on the case.

Based on a previous report, authorities will resume the investigation for illegal gambling charges against Seungri and former YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk after the Chuseok holiday.

Police were, reportedly, gathering evidence against the two personalities for a practice called hwangchigi, which refers to illegal foreign exchange transactions.

Investigators have already coordinated with U.S. Treasury for assistance in securing data on the financial accounts of YG's subsidiary in the United States.

"We need time to figure out how they mobilized and routed the gambling funds. We need to investigate for one to two more weeks and reschedule their attendance as one has denied and the other has admitted to some of the charges during the first investigation," authorities, previously, said.

Apart from illegal gambling charges, both Seungri and Yang Hyun Suk are also involved in other cases as they both stand accused of mediating prostitution in Seungri's former nightclub Burning Sun.

After Seungri was questioned multiple times on the charges, Yang Hyun Suk is also expected to be called in for questioning before the statute of limitation expires for the case next month.

Yang Hyun Suk is also expected to be questioned on allegations of threatening an informant on former iKON leader B.I.'s attempt to purchase drugs from an anonymous supplier, reported BT
