Fresh off the success of her K-drama called Hotel del Luna, IU celebrated her 11th debut anniversary with her fans and proved once again why she is one of the most beloved celebrities in the industry. Apart from making a charitable donation, she also announced her concert schedule and upcoming comeback album.

Over the weekend, IU headlined a fan meeting at Kyung Hee University's Grand Peace Palace, greeting a crowd of 6,000 fans for her Play, Pause and U event. The event was sold out and the venue was filled with fans who missed IU, Soompi reported.

Hotel del Luna, which starred IU and Joo Jin Goo, earned many positive comments from reviewers and fans alike. A review by Hello Kpop described Hotel del Luna as more than just a fantasy romance drama.

"It managed to deliver resounding life lessons viewers can all learn from. Despite its otherworldly theme, Jang Man Wol, Goo Chan Seong, as well as the rest of the characters, were representations of ordinary people grappling to understand their existence," a review read.

It seemed that spirits were still in full celebratory swing leading up to IU's meet-and-greet event where she surprised her fans with her rendition of Lean on My Shoulder, which is the theme song of Hotel del Luna. She also performed the song Happy Ending, which is one of the fan-favorite songs from the drama but was not part of the original soundtrack.

IU shared a sentimental look at the 11 years spanning her career, from her past, present and the future and kicked off by announcing that she will make a charitable donation to those in need. IU donated the amount of 100 million won (US $83,000) under the name of IUAENA, which is a combination of her name and the name of her fandom UAENA.

As the room erupted into applause over the announcement, IU also shared that she will be kicking of her 2019 solo concert entitled Love, Poem. The concert series will start in Gwangju in November before it hits Incheon, Busan, and Seoul.

After completing the Korean leg of the tour, she will take her Love, Poem concert to Taipei, Singapore, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, and Jakarta in December.

IU's agency also announced that, in addition to IU's fan meet and concert schedule, she will also be releasing a new album that she is already working on.
