Manny Pacquiao certainly wants another shot to try and make Floyd Mayweather taste the agony of defeat for the first time. The latter, however, remains elusive so while waiting Pacquiao is weighing on who to fight next, and the choice is now down to two, reports said.

Team Pacquiao has reportedly zeroed in on two welterweights who share the same name - Garcia. The first is Mikey who last March was defeated by Errol Spence. Mikey's camp has been pursuing a showdown with the Filipino champ, and now the chance is higher he'll get what he wished for.

The other boxer in consideration is Danny Garcia. The two Garcias, according to The Sun, are frontrunners to slug with Pacquiao next. The publication said this latest update was provided by Sean Gibbons, a representative of the MP Promotions.

Of the two, it appears that Danny is most bent to have his day on the ring with the former 8-division champion. Earlier in the year, Danny called on Pacquiao to fight him next and promise that when the bout takes place, it will be "hell."

"I've got that good power in both hands, I'm a good counter-puncher and I've got good timing ... So, I think those are three things that'll give Manny Pacquiao hell in his career ... And those are three things I possess, so I definitely think that's a great matchup for me," Danny was quoted as saying.

Not to be outdone, Mikey has indicated he will put off a plan to return to lightweight so he can square off with Pacquiao, who is a reigning welterweight champ on the virtue of his recent win over Keith Thurman.

Mikey is convinced he is perfect as the next foe of Pacquiao, and Freddie Roach seems in agreement. Per the same report from The Sun, Roach is looking to see a good tussle with Mikey as the final choice by Team Pacquiao.

"I like that fight. He's more around Pacquiao's weight. Maybe Crawford and Spence can fight, and we fight the winner," the legendary trainer was reported as saying.

Yet truth be told, what really excites the boxing world is the rematch headlining Pacquiao and Mayweather. Promoter Bob Arum isn't coy on his desire that the two should meet again, and he even urged the Filipino to make the move and push forward with a proposal.

"The fact is, they'll make a lot of money and nobody gets hurt. They can both laugh their way all to the bank. So if Manny can make that fight then, of course, he should take it," The Mirror reported Arum as saying.

The promoter added a rematch is win-win for both fighters and a pot of no less than $250 million awaits them.

Meanwhile in the Philippines, reports circulating in the local press have been saying that Pacquiao is nearly confirmed to have another go on Mayweather.

A tabloid, the Pilipino Star Ngayon, claimed the duel number two "is in the bag," and both sides have been discussing on how to appropriate the total purse money.
