Fans are now waiting to see what will happen to the Byrde family in the coming Ozark Season 3. It has been over the year season Netflix has dropped Season 2, now it is a big question about what will happen to Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy (Laura Linney) next.
Marty's hands got far dirtier in the previous season. Hence, he would experience the aftermath of everything he did in the new installment that Bateman himself teased when he announced the show's return.
In a tweet, the 50-year-old star revealed he is happy, but concerned for Marty in Ozark Season 3. Just like the previous installments, the new season will also have 10 episodes. So, will there will be new faces coming to the series?
According to Radio Times, NCIS: New Orleans star Madison Thompson will join the new season of the crime drama web television series. She will play the role of Erin, Helen's (Janet McTeer) daughter. The headstrong teenager will be dragged along to the Ozarks due to some mother-and-daughter bonding, but it will result in something that no one expects.
Aside from Thompson, the Marvel stars, Tom Pelphrey, from Iron Fist, and Jessica Frances Dukes, from Jessica Jones, will also join the cast as series regulars, along with McTeer and Lisa Emery, who will portray as Darlene Snell. Joseph Sikora and Felix Solis, on the other hand, will also have recurring roles. Of course, the entire Byrde family will return.
Meanwhile, showrunner Chris Mundy hinted things would never go well for Marty in Ozark Season 3 after he killed Pastor Mason Young (Michael Mosley) in the previous season. "Marty is on a slippery slope, but he's not all the way down yet," Mundy told The Hollywood Reporter.
He went on to say Marty has a panic attack and breakdown; thus, Wendy will take the responsibility to keep the family going. By the looks of it, Wendy will be the one who will be the new season's leading player. He even confirmed she had always been heading down to this route.
"I think she was definitely on that path; Wendy found the combination of her North Carolina youth and her Chicago politics fused into a very useful combination in the Ozarks," Mundy explained. Every time Wendy is put to the test; she is always able to come through.
Marty's mental health condition may put him on the line that he may also end up in jail. If this happens in Ozark Season 3, Wendy and Ruth (Julia Garner) have to work together. Netflix has yet to announce when the new season will be out, but it is expected for release later this year or in early 2020.
