Going to the 2019-20 NBA Season, the Golden State Warriors lineup will be entirely different from the squad that rampaged its way to three NBA titles. Key players have made their way out, and the most prominent of which is Kevin Durant. Even so, Klay Thompson seems convinced the Dub Dynasty is still a go.

Thompson, however, has allowed that with Durant as a Warrior still, the GSW narrative would be a lot better. It might have been that the team from the Bay Area will be regarded as among the legends, in the same league with the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers of different eras.

"We could have been the greatest dynasty ever," the GSW forward was reported by NBC Sports as saying.

Supposedly, these were the exact words that Thompson said when he had the chance to speak with KD following the latter's free-agency decision last July. Durant had opted to end his stint with the Warriors and signed up with the Brooklyn Nets. In heading east, KD will be playing alongside Kyrie Irving, who according to rumors was one of the chief reasons that prompted Durant to switch jersey.

Thompson though has made clear that he is not mad, and there is no ill-feeling toward his former teammate. "I'm never going to hold it against him. He wanted to go to New York City. There's nothing wrong with that," the All-Star declared.

Brushing aside the subject, Thompson said in a recent interview that he believes the Warriors dynasty is far from over. "Go Dubs! The dynasty ain't over," Fadeaway World reported Thompson as saying.

In essence, Thompson is talking on solid points. The Warriors indeed can still count on him, on Stephen Curry, and on Draymond Green. And the three are part of the core players that made the GSW a force to reckon with in the NBA. This was the case when Durant was still with the OKC, and apparently, Thompson is firm on his conviction that his team is as strong as ever, no matter the absence by Durant.

In reality, however, the Warriors that will compete in the coming season are somehow depleted. For starters, Thompson himself is injured and likely able to re-join only the team by mid-season, which is a scenario that is iffy.

Then Andre Iguodala and Ron Livingston are no longer around - the former traded and the latter now retired. The two when with the GSW played crucial roles as the Warriors won championships after championships. Iguodala even has a badge of honor to show how important he was with the GSW cause - he was Finals MVP.

So for the dynasty to continue as it was, it will be up to Curry and Green. It is not hard to see that it will be difficult but not impossible for them to carry on the torch.
