SWAT season 3 episode 2 will air next week and, within this episode, we're going to see more scenes full of action and tension between some established faces and new arrivals. So, now, here's what viewers can expect in next week's episode, titled "Bad Faith."
According to the synopsis of SWAT season 3 episode 2, Detective Lieutenant Piper Lynch was tasked by the mayor to enact a departmental review of the squad right as they pursue the unstable and dangerous fugitive leader of an infamous doomsday cult. Luca, on the other hand, asked the team to his Guatemalan food truck -- his new passion project.
What are we learning about Lt. Lynch at this point? She is someone who has a lot of uncertainty about the team, especially the way they do their business. This isn't surprising at all since whenever a newcomer is entering a series like SWAT, we have to be prepared that this person could suddenly come in and stir things up.
We have to expect that this newcomer will clash with Hondo and other team members. In the next week's episode, she's going to be a particular thorn for the team. Lt. Lynch also spent most of her time elsewhere, and she is now dealing with someone like Hondo and his crew.
There is no doubt that they're an effective team, but they can also be a little bit rebellious. There are times that they follow more of their own code, rather than what's given to them. That's probably one of the reasons why Lt. Lynch isn't sure about this team.
While this could be a problem along the road, this could also be one of the reasons Lt. Lynch and the team could set up a stronger partnership. It takes some time for a new character to establish trust, but she'll eventually realize that Hondo and the team are the heroes.
At the end of SWAT season 3 episode 2, it feels like we're going to learn more about Lt. Lynch and what she feels about the rest of the team. In due time, she's likely going to work with them to get on the same page as everyone else. Beyond the rivalries, we still see action mixed with emotional stories with some characters.
SWAT season 3 episode 2 will arrive on Wednesday, October 9, on CBS.
