Meghan Markle has been known as Rachel Zane in the American TV series Suits before she officially became the wife of Prince Harry. However, not known to many, the Duchess of Sussex is not the only one in the royal family who has a background in acting.

Sarah Ferguson, the former wife of Prince Andrew, appeared in multiple TV shows in America and one of which required her to act on camera. The Duchess of York starred in the hit TV show Friends in 1998, two years after her divorce with Queen Elizabeth II's third child, Prince Andrew.

She appeared as herself in Friends Season 4 Episode 23, titled "The One with Ross's Wedding: Part 1." In the two-part Season 4 finale, the Friends main character, except for Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow), traveled to London for Ross' (David Schwimmer) wedding to Emily (Helen Baxendale). Prior to the wedding ceremony, Joey (Matt LeBlanc) goes on a sightseeing trip around London, where she met Sarah Ferguson and British business magnate Richard Branson.

Joey is wearing a giant Union Jack hat in the scene which Fergie complimented. Joey took a video of him and the Duchess of York, which he later showed to Chandler (Matthew Perry).

"Hi Chandler, Joey says you don't really like his hat, but I think it's kind of dashing," Fergie said in the clip.

At the time of her Friends appearance, Queen Elizabeth II was reportedly not thrilled to the idea of having London as a backdrop for the show. During filming, there was a rumor that the British monarch had banned the Friends crew from filming in front of the Queen's official residence, Buckingham Palace. Later on, the rumor was debunked.

Fergie's spokesman told the media, at the time, that the Duchess enjoyed the filming and her brief encounter with the cast of the show. Sarah accepted the offer to appear on Friends because her daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, are both big fans of the sitcom.

Sarah, also known as Fergie, did a documentary television series, Finding Sarah, as well. It was produced by Oprah Winfrey's TV network and aired in 2011. The series follows her daily life as she rebuilds her life after her divorce and struggles with financial troubles.

The 60-year-old royalty also appeared as a guest star in Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice in 2008. Fergie also once stood in as a guest presenter on CNN's Larry King Live in 2001.
