HBO finally confirmed the longstanding rumor that Silicon Valley Season 6 would be the final bow of the comedy series. The network recently dropped the first look to the last and final season, hinting a new trial against the U.S. government.

In the set photos shared by Pop Culture, a trial is about to happen before the Pied Piper officially says goodbye. In the snaps, there is a group photo where Dinesh (Kumali Nanjiani) seems to need a microphone. Gavin (Matt Ross) and Richard (Thomas Middleditch) are also seen on the same bench, while inside a court, that may mean they are on the same side this time.

Jared (Zach Woods) looks hopeful and seems to be rooting for Richard in another photo. Richard, however, appears to be nervous while on trial, which seems to mimic Mark Zuckerberg's hearing in the congress last spring.

Jimmy O. Yang will also return to Silicon Valley Season 6 to play the role of Jian Yang. Fans first saw the character as a side-plot, but he replaced Miller (Erlich Bachman) as the resident wild card after the latter's exit.

Also, in the new season, Richard will be an established CEO, and other characters will be entrenched in their respective jobs as well. However, fans can expect there will be a huge problem they have to face as the show will never be complete without issues.

In a statement, showrunners Mike Judge and Alec Berg said Silicon Valley had been a "career and life highlight" for them. Now that the show is about to come to an end, they will surely miss it desperately. As they let the Pied Piper go on its journey, Silicon Valley Season 6 is deemed to be the perfect time to say goodbye.

TV Line reported the show's production would be delayed until the summer of this year. HBO's spokesperson confirmed the delay had something to do with Berg's busy schedule. Berg is also Barry's showrunner, so they let him wrap up the show first before he starts working on Silicon Valley.

HBO programming EVP Amy Gravitt recalled the time when the series just started, saying it has been quite a ride since the pilot when Peter (Christopher Evan Welch) and Gavin just saw Richard's algorithm. Although the culture's relationship with technology already changed, Judge and Berg's storytelling managed to be ahead of the step in every way. Silicon Valley Season 6 is set to be out on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 10 p.m. ET on HBO.
