The Rookie season 2 episode 4 is coming out later this week, and we're going to meet the newest addition in the series. In this episode, titled "Warriors and Guardians," Mekia Cox's character, Nyla Harper, will be making her first appearance.

John Nolan's first interaction with his new training officer, Harper, will be seen in The Rookie season 2 episode 4. Harper will surely bring her sort of energy in the LAPD, especially since she is someone who knows police work after her stint as an undercover. But, what will happen to Nolan and Harper when they started working together?

Cox's character has a dark past, and it could probably create some conflicts. Harper has a lot of experience, but she's different from other standard officers. She spent most of her years doing undercover and often thinks about how a criminal would. She also nearly lost herself, and she's hoping to find normalcy once she takes on the role of a training officer.

The Chicago Med/Once Upon a Time alum joined the ABC drama as a series regular. She replaced the role of Afton Williamson's character, Talia Bishop. Williamson announced she would not be returning in the series due to alleged harassment by a co-star and crew member. It was revealed in the premiere that she took a job at ATF.

While Nolan's first interaction with Harper may play a big part in the upcoming The Rookie season 2 episode 4, there are still other things to expect within this episode. For instance, Officer Bradford couldn't think of an appropriate gift for Rachel, while Officer Lopez ended up navigating a case that triggers a personal memory.

Meanwhile, Cox isn't the only new addition in The Rookie season 2. Nathan Fillion, who plays Nolan, told TV Insider that Harold Perrineau would join the series as "clever detective," while Ali Larter as a "brilliant doctor." These new additions will be joining other cast members, including Eric Winter, Alyssa Diaz, Melissa O'Neil, Titus Makin, and Richard T. Jones.

Another good news is that The Rookie season 2 will arrive with a new timeslot, and it ended up tying its average rating for the first season. This is a good start for the show in its sophomore run, and that only means the timeslot has made a good impact this season compared to where it was on ABC this past fall.

The Rookie season 2 episode 4 arrives on Sunday, October 20, on ABC.
