Fans were shocked when it was reported that Kevin Hart was involved in a vehicular accident back in September. Although the Jumanji: The Next Level star was not driving his car at the time, it was confirmed that he had to be taken to the hospital as he had suffered multiple back injuries. Unfortunately, this meant that Hart would have to stop working on his upcoming projects for several months. However, it looks like the Jumanji 3 actor is finally ready to get back to work.
Back in September, Kevin Hart and his friend Jared Black and another woman were driving in Hart's car when Black lost control of the vehicle. The car ended up in a gully in Mulholland Drive with its roof torn off. Hart, who was not driving at the time, was reportedly not wearing his seatbelt and had to be taken to the hospital for multiple spinal injuries. The Jumanji 3 star underwent several surgeries and was reportedly in pain from his injuries.
Not surprisingly, the car accident led to speculations that Jumanji: The Next Level would be delayed as Kevin Hart was given time to recuperate. Likewise, Hart's other projects like the Monopoly movie and Fatherhood might need to be pushed back as the actor recovered from his injuries. However, it was confirmed that Hart had already completed work on Jumanji 3. This means that the highly anticipated sequel will still push through with its December release.
Interestingly, a new report from Entertainment Weekly reveals that Kevin Hart's attorney has provided an update on the actor's current situation. Andrew Bettler released a statement confirming that Hart will do some promotional work for Jumanji 3 but will not begin filming until next year. "While he's doing a little work here and there for the film, he doesn't expect to be fully back to work until the new year," Brettler said. The minor work that Hart has done includes reuniting with The Next Level co-stars Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black, and Nick Jonas for a new photo for the sequel.
Jumanji 3 will bring back Kevin Hart as Franklin "Mouse" Finbar, the game avatar that serves as the weapons specialist. Although Mouse originally served as Fridge's avatar, the diminutive character will be used by Danny Glover's Milo Walker in The Next Level. The highly anticipated film is scheduled for release on December 13, 2019.
