All American Season 2 is now two episodes deep in its course. But, while it's only the beginning of Spencer's new course, things are starting to become messier already.
The premiere episode titled, Hussle & Motivate, left everyone in shock as the cliffhanger foreshadowed something dark and mysterious. When the next episode (Speak Ya Clout) revealed the cliffhanger, it became all too heartbreaking for Spencer.
As it happened, the new player, Darnell, is revealed to be his father's girlfriend's son. Corey tried to explain everything to Spencer, though. However, he pushed away his father, saying that he didn't miss his true family because he, unfortunately, replaced them with a new one.
Spencer also told Corey that he left him fatherless, while he stood as a father to Darnell. And that is something he couldn't forgive.
While Spencer broke his silence about his issues with his father, Jordan was also experiencing a similar problem with Coach Billy. Unfortunately, after Coach Billy "exited" the team, Jordan tried to mess things up. Aside from the fact he's ticked off with his father's decision to quit his position, he was not happy either with what's currently happening in his life.
Later on, he got himself into trouble with the cops. This was when Billy talked to him about his fatherhood. He shared with Jordan that his father also messed things up. But, he won't do it with him.
Jordan snubbed his father, though. Even so, Coach Billy made it known that he won't go away whatever happens.
Upon patching things up with his son, Billy noticed that everyone on his former team lost concentration as per MEA World Wide. So, he then decided to come back as their coach.
Spencer's and Jordan's father issues were the center of All American Season 2 Episode 2. Nevertheless, it looked like Layla also shared a similar problem as she was "struggling" by the absence of her father.
It was revealed that she did not share her struggles with anyone, especially Spencer. This made things much worse on her part. Fortunately, though, she let on Spencer in with her current mental problems, including her issues with her father.
While everyone is seemingly having father issues, Coop, on the other hand, is struggling with other issues like her career and identity. As per Den of Geek, things are seemingly becoming a lot messier for everyone in All American Season 2. It's not unlikely that the plot will be a lot darker and more heartbreaking as it progresses.
All American Season 2 will continue to drop new episodes every Monday on The CW.
