CBS' new entry for Monday nights, All Rise, has now started its course. The network's new Americal legal drama is seemingly changing how the mass perceives justice in recent times.
As seen in the latest episode titled, A View From The Bus, the plot centered on giving Dylan a fair trial. Although it's a risk for him and on his lawyer's end, it's a must if he wants to get justice for his friend's death.
Dylan is a young man who was accused of taking part in a shooting that killed his friend. He claimed that he heard everything during the incident. However, the accusations were strong enough to convict him.
Luckily, Emily, who happens to be a public defender, has always been eager to find for the truth. And she knew since the beginning that Dylan is innocent.
Considering that there were no enough pieces of hard evidence, she asked Lola's permission to give her a "jury view." In other words, the jury, along with Emily, Dylan, and Lola, will go to the crime scene to experience the recreation of the exact night where the shooting happened.
Although everything went well at first, the cops asked Lola and the rest of the jury to take shelter as an active shooter was present in the location. Lola thought that the case would turn out to be biased, given the situation they are all experiencing. As a result, she went on to speak with the jury, one by one, to explain the whole situation.
This was a huge risk on Lola's part. However, she ensured that she just wanted to give Dylan a fair trial. At the end of All Rise Season 1 Episode 4, Dylan was found not guilty.
On another note, Lola's best friend, Mark, who is the current Deputy District Attorney, was on the process of prosecuting a "heroin kingpin" as per TV Fanatic. While Mark thought that things are going well for him and the case, Lola warned her that Detective Layland, who provided him the evidence, always "cut corners."
Upon hearing Lola's warnings, he took a closer look at Layland's evidence and found that something was "shady." As it happened, she obtained her warrant based on false testimony.
He immediately went to Choi to have Layland investigated. However, the case was dismissed. While he may have lost the case, Choi congratulated Mark for his eagerness to find justice more than conviction, which was stressed out as a very important dynamic in recent time's justice system.
Many fans are convinced that All Rise is not just any ordinary legal drama series. And with these dynamics at hand, it made the fans a lot more excited about what the show is about to offer in its future courses.
All Rise Season 1 will continue to drop new episodes every Monday on CBS. The upcoming episode titled, Devotees in the Courthouse of Love, is set to air on October 21.
