One of ABC's newest series, Emergence, has just started its course. It's now four episodes deep and fans are wanting to get more of the show. However, it might take time since the network pushed the new episode on to a new schedule.
According to Cartermatt, there will be no new episode of Emergence next week. ABC will air a Halloween Special program, which will be followed by new episodes of Mixed-ish and Black-ish.
As for the Allison Tolman-led series' spot, a "repeat" episode will air. Although, it's unknown whether it will be the most recent installment or the pilot episode.
The new episode, however, will continue the plots of the show on October 29, and it will pick up where Episode 4 ended. This is with Benny's assassination upon meeting with April.
Based on the recently released synopsis of Emergence Episode 5, Jo will be "determined" to prove that Kindred was behind the assassination attack on Benny and April. As to how this will happen, little is known yet.
Also, it was further hinted that Piper would face new challenges on her part. She will be experiencing "intense" visions that are also confusing.
The mystery behind Piper's survival after the plane crash has been slowly unveiled. While Jo already learned that she is a gynoid, she kept it from everyone, as seen in the previous episodes.
Many fans are convinced that there is more to Piper's backstory. And although Kindred appears to be the big bad of the pilot course, Cartermatt notes that the writers of the show surely know that it's not wise to give away everything in the first part of the season. Hence, there might be more revelations that will surface in the upcoming installments.
The change in its schedule has got many fans thinking that it might be due to the non-stellar viewership records of the show. As per TV Line, Emergence started its plot on ABC and obtained over 4.12 million viewers, which is an impressive figure given that the show has not been widely marketed. However, the second episode titled, Camera Wheelbarrow Tiger Pillow, was down by 12 and 25 percent in total viewers and demo ratings, respectively.
The downward trend continued with the succeeding episodes. Based on the latest scorecards, the fourth episode titled, No Outlet, drew only 2.71 million viewers.
While there is an apparent decline in terms of its viewership ratings and records, no confirmation has been made if this is the reason why ABC pushed the new episode's schedule.
