Chicago Med season 5 episode 5 will arrive next week, and this episode will bring us to the other side of the hospital; it wouldn't get easier from here. The series features one of the busiest hospitals in the city, where a wide array of troubles are often present there. Here's what we can expect in the upcoming episode, titled "Got a Friend in Me."

The title of the episode makes us think that happy times and happy moments are waiting for the characters. However, this episode is full of conflicts between doctors and complicated situations. In the synopsis of Chicago Med season 5 episode 5, Dr. Marcel and Dr. Choi don't see eye-to-eye over the treatment of a patient who's suffering from chronic illness.

Meanwhile, a rumor started to circulate about Maggie and this could affect her future. Dr. Manning, on the other hand, is helping a young boy but her treatment suggestions are being challenged by the patient's parents, who only believe in a holistic approach. This episode will likely highlight the struggles these characters are facing right now, especially with Dr. Manning and her future.

Dr. Manning is still dealing with her traumatic brain injury, and she's doing everything she can to hide her mistakes. The good thing is that her condition didn't leave her naming the wrong medications in last week's episode, where it featured a crossover between Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD. So, will Dr. Manning still be questionable as a doctor in Chicago Med season 5 episode 5 and in the future?

According to Nick Gehlfuss, who plays Will Halstead, Dr. Manning's traumatic brain injury isn't going anywhere despite doing well in the previous episode, and added that her questionable decisions "will continue." The actor said that his character, Will, takes a vested interest in the ability of Natalie doing her job and if she's just smart and safe with herself.

Gehlfuss said that Will is really worried about Natalie. And if the aftermath of her injury persists most this season, then Dr. Manning's performance in last week's crossover episode doesn't necessarily mean she fully recovered. It's not surprising Chicago Med dropped a huge storyline like Dr. Manning's traumatic brain injury, and, perhaps, life won't possibly be getting easier any time soon.

Chicago Med season 5 episode 5 will air on Wednesday, October 23, on NBC.
