Fans are about to see the Intelligence Unit on the other side of the crossover in the new episode of Chicago P.D. Season 7. The show is full of surprises that even one of its stars, Marina Squerciati, is literally shocked by its developments. So, now that the team is out of the woods, they are set to face another issue to solve a mysterious case.
"A murder in a Bulgarian neighborhood results in a challenging investigation when locals won't talk to police," Chicago P.D. Season 7 Episode 5 official synopsis read. "Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) has a clash with a patrol officer."
According to CarterMatt, "Brother's Keeper" will be about a murder, which nobody wants to talk about. Although this case seems to be low-key compared to the previous episode, it will still be an important part of the series.
On the other hand, Ruzek's issue with a patrol officer is not a matter that needs to be addressed right now, given his history. His job status now teeters, and he needs to find a proper way to move forward if ever he will find a good way to do it.
Meanwhile, Squerciati, who plays as Burgess, revealed an event that took her by surprise in the new season. "They threw a curveball at me that I did not see coming," she told TV Line. The 35-year-old actress revealed the "Burzek" story would be an interesting one this time. After they touched their story in Episode 4, they promised to explore it a little later.
Flueger added there are some "seeds planted" about the love story of the former couple Ruzek and Burgess. After their short-lived "no-strings-attached hookup" and number of attempts to move on, something official may finally happen between the two. "Like, it goes, or it doesn't," Squerciati added. Will it happen in Chicago P.D. Season 7 Episode 5?
Ruzek just came off a failed relationship with Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos). He described his past romance as a "different animal" compared to his relationship with Burgess.
Flueger said Ruzek and Upton are just better as friends, and they come up to realize that quite later. Hence, there will be no "leftover feelings," but Burgess may remain a little bit in love with her no matter what. Chicago P.D. Season 7 Episode 5, "Brother's Keeper," is set to be out on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 10 p.m. on NBC.
