It could be the dream matchup in The Walking Dead Season 10: Negan vs. Beta. The two characters are expected to meet soon finally, and fans can no longer wait on what is about to go down.
Actor Ryan Hurst, who plays the role of the Whisperer's second-in-command Beta, talked about the upcoming clash between his character and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). He teased that it is going to be funny and bloody.
Hurst noted how Beta and Negan are the total opposite to each other; hence, the matchup is expected to be epic. Beta is a stone-faced, immovable person while Negan is a mouthpiece who doesn't know how to shut up. Hurst teased that the first episode of Negan and Beta together will be the funniest episode in The Walking Dead history.
"It's still very bloody, still very Walking Dead, but there's more levity in that episode than in any other I've ever seen of the show," he added.
In The Walking Dead comics, Beta and Negan's first meeting takes place in issue No. 154, when Beta spends time among the Whisperers as part of an effort to prove himself to Rick Grimes. It is also one of the hilarious moments in the comic series because of the opposite personalities of the two characters.
Negan also gives Beta nicknames like Frowny Mctwoknives in comics. TWD fans are hoping to see this on the small screen as well.
It looks like the AMC post-apocalyptic series will never fail their fans. Negan and Beta will not cross paths just once in the TV adaptation. Hurst revealed that he and Morgan shot several scenes already, and there are more lined up for their characters.
Despite the difficulty in filming, Hurst enjoys his time on set with Morgan, who also happened to be his good friend in real life. The actor recently revealed that he was once rushed to the hospital due to heat exhaustion while filming in Beta's costume and under the extreme heat in Georgia.
In the series, Hurst wears a heavy mask, thick leather trench coat, and military boots. Beta and the rest of Whisperers are known for skinning walkers and wearing their faces so they can travel unnoticed.
Meanwhile, Hurst also confirmed that Beta would cross paths with Daryl (Norman Reedus) again. The two had their first fight in Season 9, which did not end well for Beta. He was tossed down an elevator shaft in the previous season.
The Walking Dead Season 10 airs Sundays on AMC at 9 p.m. This is the final season of Robert Kirkman's series.
