Actress Chae Min-seo is under fire of public criticism. Recently, social awareness of the dangers of drunk driving has increased. The actress who has been caught four times for drunk driving can not escape harsh rebuke from the viewers.

On October 19th, Chae was sentenced to eight months in prison and two years of probation for drunk driving charge. The court in the Seoul Central District also ordered 40 hours of defensive driving class and 120 hours of community service.

The actress hit a stopped car while driving in a reversed direction on a one way street in Gangnam District. The driver of the victim's car was injured in need of two weeks healing. Her blood alcohol content level was 0.063 percent, a level requiring license suspension.

The court gave the verdict in consideration that Chae is sincerely regretting and the victim's injury was not too serious. However, the prosecutor disagreed with the sentence and appealed.

Chae Min-seo was found guilty of drunk driving in 2012 and 2015. Despite being caught three times, she drove again being intoxicated. This is the reason why the public pointed out that the sentence was too light. Moreover, although Yoon Chang-ho Act was recently enforced, it is not a situation where drunk driving has been clearly reduced, the public opinion speaks for punishment to be strengthened. Chae Min-seo's SNS is now filled with comments blaming her act.

Chae Min-seo debuted through the movie, "Champion" in 2002 and has appeared in "Don't Tell Papa", "Sweet Lie", "Wig" and "Camping".
