Monsta X's Wonho was caught in a controversy due to his debt he did not pay back to Jung Da Eun. Starship Entertainment stated that the company is reviewing the legal action. Jung Da Eun counteracted by releasing phone text messages he exchanged with the legal representative of Wonho.

The controversy began when Jung photographed a TV screen that shows Wonho on her Instagram on October 29th. Jung added the question, "When are you going to pay my money?"

Han Seo-hee, who was under a rumor of same-sex affair with Jung, commented, "Give back 30 million won that belongs to Da Eun. Ho Seok (Wonho's real name), Repay." Another acquaintance wrote, "Did you not pay it back yet? It's been almost six years." Jung Dae-eun wrote, "I have not got even 10%. He has paid back only 2 million won."

As the post became controversial, Jung Da-eun's Instagram was filled with criticisms.  Jung responded, "It's Wonho who hides himself after borrowing money. Why do I have to contact the company directly? Does it make sense that I have not contacted him? Whenever I talked about the money, Wonho hid himself."

Concerning Jung Da-eun's insistence, Starship staff said on October 30th, "The contents are completely untrue. We are reviewing a legal action."

Jung Dae-eun sparked the controversy even more by posting a screenshot of text messages he had with Wonho's lawyer. The lawyer asked about Jung's claim and requested more information.

Jung replied, "Tell him to contact me directly." The lawyer said, "Can we meet? I will deliver exactly what you say." The lawyer continued, "What kind of damage did you take. Wonho thinks that there is no amount to repay, so he is very curious. If you tell me the details of the damage, I will deliver it correctly and there will be no damage on you."

To answer the lawyer's texts, Jung Da-eun wrote, "It doesn't make sense. Does he think paying 2 million would cover all the rest?" She continued, "I've lived with him in Yeoksam-dong. We were supposed to share the rent cost in half but he did not pay well. All his unpaid amount was deducted from the deposit I paid, 10 million won. He stole my stuff and sold them in the used market. He borrowed more than 300,000 won to 500,000 won, and made an excuse, saying that the company did not settle the accounting by 2016. I told him to pay back my money at the end of 2016. He said his limit of transaction is one million won. He sent one million one for two days amounting to 2 million won. That is all he paid back out of 30 million won.

Two came to know each other through "Ulzzang Shidae", a variety show aired in the past.
