Crayon Pop's BJ Ellin (29, Kim Min-young) announced her stance on the controversial romance scam.

"I apologize for the controversy in the first place," Ellin said on her African TV channel bulletin. "I'm sorry for the inconvenience that I caused for my viewers and subscribers," added she.

"Many people have asked me if it was true or false when they saw the article posted in the bulletin, and my colleagues and acquaintances worried about me a lot," wrote the BJ. "Many reporters contacted me or my agency asking a lot about the authenticity of the article," said Ellin.

She continued, "It will cause even more confusion or misunderstanding if I hastily say any words right at this moment without careful preparation of supporting data. So, I will explain about this controversy through my broadcast."

Ellin said, "I sincerely bow down and apologize for causing the scandal once again."

Earlier, an individual who uses the African TV nickname "Monk-mung", claimed that "I had spent a huge amount of money as I was cheated by her romance scam." He also added, "I wish that this BJ will not have more chances to play with someone's emotions in the future. I am considering to take a legal action."

"Romance scams" are fraudulent ways of showing good interests in online, building trust with financial strength and appearance, and asking for money for various reasons.

In this context, Ellin from Crayon Pop was suspected by many netizens. As controversy escalated, Ellin made her Instagram account private and disabled YouTube channel commenting. This led to a procession of comments by netizens who demanded an accurate explanation from the BJ.

Ellin debuted as a group Crayon Pop in July 2012 and worked in the music industry. After Crayon Pop was disbanded, she turned to BJ in April last year and started personal broadcasting.
