Members of idol groups work well as a unit. But, there are also times when members are left with no choice but to throw each other under a bus. For WINNER, they found no problem in doing so for their rapper, Song MINO, for the grave sins committed against his co-members.
According to a report by All Kpop, the incident happened at WINNER's recent guest appearance on Idol Room to promote their comeback album CROSS. During one of the segments of the show, members Seungyoon, Seunghoon and Jin Woo called out their main rapper for always being late to their schedules.
It can be recalled that one of Idol Room's most popular segments is the confession portion were members of idol groups have to face one another and open up about their complaints against each other. At this junction, WINNER members confronted MINO for always being late and making them wait.
MINO's roommate, Jin Woo, also revealed that he used to have a favorite lamp in their dorm but it suddenly disappeared. He said he always suspected Minho of having something to do with the missing lamp.
The confrontation was met with awkwardness and a lot of laughter as the rapper fended off his members' accusations. Fans loved the segment and said that the interaction among the members showed how familiar they were with each other because of their brotherly banter.
It can be recalled that WINNER released their comeback last Oct. 23 with their latest mini-album, CROSS. The lead single SOSO, a song composed by MINO, Seunghoon and Seungyoon, was produced by Seungyoon in collaboration with songwriter AiRPLAY.
E! Online, in its review, lauded the video for serving up a visual feast with somber and heartbreaking scenes that show the members in a desert-like setting post-apocalypse.The entertainment site further praised the execution of the SOSO MV where it depicted the vulnerability of the members, especially Seunghoon, who appeared completely naked as he stared at multiple reflections of himself in the mirror.
The edgy, emotional song catapulted CROSS to the top of iTunes' Top Albums chart in 23 countries upon its release. It also did well in Korean music charts Bugs and Soribada. #WINNER_SOSO also became a No. 1 trending topic when the group released its music video.
With two successful comebacks this year, WINNER proved that it can still thrive despite negative issues surrounding YG Entertainment. INNER CIRCLE, the group's official fandom, pulled through for the members with their continued support.
