The Red Devils dominated the Partizan Belgrade, 3-0, at the Old Trafford but the win was marred by injuries and possible sidelining of key players. Scott McTominay was seen hobbling on his way out of the pitch while Harry Maguire was reportedly in pain.

According to United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Maguire is more likely in good form following reports that he played with discomfort against Partizan.

"I think Harry will be okay. He finished the game anyway," The Daily Mail reported the Norwegian as saying.

It seemed that McTominay was the more worrying case. United fans feared of the worst when the midfielder to the floor with a reported hurt right ankle. When he walked off the pitch, it was clear that McTominay was favoring his hurt foot.

He has become a major contributor in the Red Devils case and has made 14 appearances to date in the season. There is no doubt that McTominay being forced out of action will be a huge blow to United.

The Sun reported that the young midfielder was hurt in a collision with Partizan's Aleksandar Scekic but appeared to have recovered quick. However, minutes after the incident the Scotland international was seen escorted out of the field by United's medical staff.

As of writing, no updates have been provided on the extent of McTominay's injury, casting on his ability to return in time for the Reds scheduled tussle with Brighton in the weekend.

Dubbed by pundits as the best player so far for United in the season, McTominay might be unable to suit up, as indicated by Solskjaer.

"I don't know how bad it will be. But he said he was going to be okay but then he couldn't [continue] so hopefully he'll be okay for Sunday, I don't know," Metro reported the Reds boss as saying.

Solskjaer noted that the upcoming Sunday match will prove crucial for United as winning will the club's ticket to move up on the table.

Judging on the sterling performance displayed by the Reds against Partizan, the United boss said he is convince of winning more games in view of the team scoring more goals.

"It's always good for players to score goals, get some good combination play," Solskjaer said.

United is still hobbled by a thin lineup but the team manager said he will be resting the key players for the big games ahead with Aston Villa, Tottenham, and Manchester City. The Norwegian said he looks forward to winning despite the unfavorable odds, and hoping to kick off the run on Sunday.

"Confidence is always important in football, and we know how important Sunday is for us because we want to look up towards the top four or six positions," Solskjaer said.
