The police investigation on BTS Jungkook's car crash will expand to an official level. The celebrity star's traffic accident was classified as a serious negligence which requires a full blown investigation.

The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul initiated an investigation on Jungkook on November 8th for violating the Road Traffic Act and the Traffic Accident Handling Act. On November 4th, the singer was not officially filed a lawsuit. Currently, the investigation is in full swing.

The police official told the media, "In the case of human and material damages, it is determined whether or not to prosecute the case through the investigation." It didn't matter even if the agreement was made with the victim. The investigation is initiated once the gross negligence is confirmed."

Under the current law, the traffic accidents caused by gross negligence can lead the singer to be sentenced to a criminal charge whether or not the victim has reached an agreement. Some argued that the K-pop singer collided with a taxi while he was trying to avoid illegal parking. The police said, "It's not true."

Police officials said that the summon schedule was "not yet confirmed" and "It is difficult to disclose the schedule because it is under investigation."

Earlier this month, Jungkook had a car accident on a street in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Jungkook was confirmed to be sober at the time of the accident.

On the other hand, his agency, Big Hit Entertainment, said, "Jungkuk was driving his vehicle last week and had a car crash with another vehicle due to his mistake. Both victim and Jungkook did not sustain serious injuries. Acknowledging the violation of the traffic law, he proceeded with the on-site questioning and followed the due process. Afterwards, the agreement with the victim was smoothly completed."  The agency added, "We are sorry to the victim again. Also we would like to express our apology to all the fans who were concerned about this incident."
