Blizzard Entertainment announced, "Diablo 4" at this year's BlizzCon, which appears to have everything that the fans want. The combat of "Diablo 3" paired with the aesthetic and mood of "Diablo 2" sounds interesting despite elements like world gameplay and playable only in online mode could be its major downfall. But, according to Blizzard, the upcoming game will support Elective Mode.
One of the most exciting topics in the recent blog post from Blizzard Entertainment is the skill slots in "Diablo 4." During the BlizzCon 2019, the demo of the upcoming game revealed locked skill slots. Fortunately, the UI is still a work in progress with the game's Lead Systems Designer, David Kim confirming that the game will support elective mode style skill selection.
The latest blog post discloses that skill selection and assignment will be open for all Diablo 4" players. In other words, players can have any skill in any slot, even if it would mean possessing a set of abilities that share one resource. This is one of the significant changes instrumental for Diablo 3" to depart from the usual constrictive gameplay.
The Diablo 4" lead systems designer also says that Blizzard will soon reveal more details about itemization. It appears that the objectives are on making Rares reliable while providing a more extensive range of supplements. The team is currently working through all the feedback that comes in related to itemization and is talking about possible ways to introduce more complexity and depth to base items, Kim reveals.
Additionally, Kim notes that Blizzard is working on ways to introduce more variety to item affixes to make the powers far more interesting and the player's choices more meaningful. The team is also working on ways to provide players more independence in selecting how to customize items. This way, they will be able to enjoy exploring a wide selection of effective gameplay possibilities instead of opting on the optimal build available online, Kim explains.
It also appears that Ancient Times, which are varieties of Gear Set Pieces and Legendaries, will be changed. This sounds exciting, especially for fans of Diablo 3" who castigated the system fr providing little more than an excuse to farm similar gear twice. Kim also talks about the impact of community feedback on molding the upcoming "Diablo" installment.
The lead systems engineer shares that community feedback is a valuable resource to use when designing and improving the game. "Diablo 4" is currently in development and will be officially released in current generation gaming consoles. Rumors have it that it will also be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox two.
