NBA on the west side of the league has the two LA clubs inspiring the imagination of basketball fans. But outside of the Lakers or Clippers narrative, one team, that would be the Dallas Mavericks, is emerging as a serious contender and more so if they can add Kevin Love to the roster.

The Mavericks roster is already formidable, chiefly because of the 20-year-old sensation Luca Doncic. Paired with Kristaps Porzingis, the Slovenian star has so far provided an explosive start for Dallas by winning 10 games so far.

There is no reason to believe Dallas will make the NBA 2020 playoffs after three straight years of frustration. However, the team's campaign will gain better traction if the Cleveland forward can be added to the mix.

Instantly, Dallas having Love on its lineup will add experience and a likely leader that can guide Doncic and the rest of the team. Hopefully with Love, the Mavericks will play even more as a tight and disciplined crew, which should already be a key to further advance in the league.

Then there is Love's star power. It might not be as huge as that of a LeBron James or a Kawhi Leonard but Doncic and the Mavericks can surely benefit from the added attention and be inspired to play even harder.

According to Clutch Points, making the move on Love will be the best thing for Dallas and they better make it before the February 2020 deadline.

"Love definitely fits that bill for them. His ability to stretch the floor and make plays as a post facilitator could give another dynamic to this Dallas offense. Likewise, adding a big who can rebound well and secure second possessions for them would further boost their already great rebounding team," the report said.

Of note too, the Cavaliers star playing with Doncic on the same team will complement the youngster's impressive court intelligence. Love around will even more highlight how Doncic takes command of the floor and feed on the perfect player to take the shot.

If Love gets the ball from Doncic and sees an opening, he'll fire the shot whether from a distance or near the board. Most likely, he'll connect.

Love's stats so far in the current season support this assumption. According to Inquisitr, he averages 17.9 points and 11.8 rebounds in 14 games played in the league. And add to that least three assists that teammates gladly convert to points.

While already 31, Love is showing no sign of slowing down as evidenced by his shooting percentage of 44.6 and 35.7 percent from beyond the arc.

It should be easy to see that Love's 12 seasons in the NBA and how he remains productive on the court are compelling enough for the Mavericks front office to seriously consider acquiring him. In doing so, the team will only increase its chance of capturing another NBA title.
