Reports emerged that the FBI is now looking for ways to have a talk with Prince Andrew over his connection to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Although the Duke of York earlier revealed that he would be willing to cooperate with any agencies, there is a new claim that the United States' law enforcement agency is planning to raid the Buckingham Palace after the prince's revelations on BBC Newsnight.
It cannot be denied that Prince Andrew is now on the hot water because of his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. The two have been friends for years before the disgraced financier was convicted of serious crimes in Florida in 2008.
According to reports, Prince Andrew already ended his link with the disgraced financier after his 2008 conviction. However, a phony tabloid claimed that the FBI is now investigating Sarah Ferguson's former husband.
FBI Raids The Palace, an indefinite article's headline read. An alleged source said that Prince Andrew's association with Jeffrey Epstein was a good reason for the FBI to be "extremely interested" to talk to Queen Elizabeth II's son and other members of the royal family.
If they don't cooperate, the insider revealed that the security service would be left with no choice but to raid the Buckingham Palace. The tipster continued to say that Prince Andrew is not entitled to any kind of diplomatic immunity, which Gossip Cop debunked.
The FBI is an American law enforcement agency. Hence, it has no jurisdiction over the royal palaces in the United Kingdom. It is also not allowed to raid any buildings or homes in another country, especially if it is a royal residence.
There are no even criminal or civil charges filed against Prince Andrew, although one of Jeffrey Epstein's accusers named him in the court documents. The father-of-two also denied any involvement or knowledge about Epstein's crimes.
CBS News recently revealed that a British newspaper reported that the FBI is now looking into ways to have an interview with Prince Andrew. To recall, the troubled prince told Emily Maitlis in the BBC discussion that he would have to take all the legal advice before he would do such a thing.
After a backlash, Prince Andrew assured that he would cooperate with the law enforcement agencies about Jeffrey Epstein's investigation. "We understand that the FBI [is] looking for ways speak to him in Britain through the U.S. Justice Department to see logistically how that could be done," royal correspondent Roya Nikkhah said. A couple of sources confirmed that Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice's father would be happy to give an interview to the federal agency.
