The "Junkyard Killer" case is now coming to a close conclusion. At the start of Episode 9 titled, Pied-A-Terre, Malcolm tried to live a normal life during his spare time.
However, it was later revealed that his father has definite links with the so-called junkyard killer. So, it seemingly appears that the fall finale episode of Prodigal Son will largely involve this dynamic.
According to TV Acute, the FBI took over the said case after what happened with Martin in the previous episode. While the mid-season penultimate installment also featured a new homicide case, the endgame of the middle part of the series lies in the junkyard killer case.
Based on the official synopsis, Malcolm will try to seek answers relating to the junkyard killer case. Upon learning now that he's father was involved with the suspect, it is only logical that he will inject himself in the middle of the case.
However, this may come as a challenge on his part. Not only because it has now become personal to him but, the FBI is said to restrict him from interfering with the case.
Despite what the FBI tells him to do, Malcolm will seemingly continue his own investigation. As per Cartermatt, he will cross paths with a former detective upon his search for answers about the case. Accordingly, this puts the two of them in danger.
Aside from the dangers Malcolm and the former detective will face in Prodigal Son Episode 10, the publication, as well as the synopsis, also hints that the head-in-charge of the Junkyard Killer case will likely cause another problem to Malcolm. The reason being is that she was revealed to have a "personal vendetta" against him.
There is no clear information yet as to how these things will work out in the next episode. But, Cartermatt appears to be certain that the upcoming episode will be a blast.
It is worth noting that Prodigal Son Episode 10 is the final episode of the pilot season for this year. Hence, it is just suitable if the show will feature huge twists and turns in the course of the series.
This is also one of the notions of several reports as to why the fall finale episode will likely be the biggest and most dramatic yet for the show.
