Ford seems to be taking offense claiming the latest marketing campaign of Tesla, where it shows a video of a tug-of-war between Ford F-150 and Tesla Cybertruck was not fair. Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently agreed to Ford's challenge of doing the challenge once again with a high likelihood that the event will be live-streamed. However, Ford is now saying that it is not participating in the challenge re-do and even calls the tug-of-war 'absurd.'

Several sites earlier reported that Tesla CEO Elon Musk already agreed to do the tug-of-war challenge between Tesla Cybertruck and Ford F-150 once again after Ford claims that the first one was not fair. It seems that Tesla used a rear-wheel-drive version of the Ford F-150. During a Twitter exchange between notable scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson and Elon Musk, the CEO agreed that it would be fairer if both pickup trucks were loaded.

The CEO also agreed to a rematch and is willing to bring Ford onboard after it's Vice President Sunny Mudra challenged Tesla to a fairer tug-of-war. The Ford executive tweeted that Tesla should give them a Cybertruck to perform an 'apple to apple' comparison of trucks, with Musk appeared to agree. But, Ford now has released a statement claiming that the vice president was not precisely challenging Tesla to do the challenge again.

The statement also sounds like Ford is not doing the tug-of-war rematch. Fox reports that according to Ford, Mudra's tweet was tongue in cheek to underline the absurdity of the video that Tesla released showing the Cybertruck and F-150. Ford goes on, saying that it is America's best-selling truck for more than four decades and that it is always focused on serving its truck customers regardless of what others do or say.

The statement ends advertising the all-new Ford F-150 hybrid releasing in 2020 and its all-electric Ford F-150 releasing in a few years. While Tesla is all giddy about the rematch, it seems that Ford is not up for it. But, with Elon Musk taking the criticism of the first tug-of-war challenge at heart, a rematch will likely happen.

Electrek believes the tug-of-war rematch is going to happen, and Ford should participate to ensure that it is fair for its popular truck. The site says that maybe Ford knows that it is going to lose so, it does not think that it should be a part of the rematch. The tug-of-war video is Tesla's marketing campaign to boost the Tesla Cybertruck. With Ford unwilling to do the rematch, it ends up a mere prop to Tesla's marketing.
